Brian sold chewing gum to the other kids in school when he was just 12-years old. He made $30 to $40 a week! Making that much money was an extraordinary achievement for a little boy, but Brian has never been satisfied with "ordinary".

Brian did do an "ordinary" thing once; he attended a community college. Predictably, he wasn't there long. One day he read a newspaper ad promising big money in real estate sales. Brian immediately quit school and became a real estate agent.

It seemed like a huge mistake! Everything he touched seemed to turn out badly. He lasted one month.

But Brian didn't quit. He found a new company to sell real estate for and soon listed a home to sell. Unfortunately, he did this on a Sunday and there was nobody around to help him with the paperwork. For more than an hour, Brian's clients sat in a conference room while hid in a back office trying to figure out how to write a listing agreement. When he came out, he pretended that he had been doing this forever and his clients signed the papers. Brian had his first listing. Under the circumstances, it was an extraordinary achievement for a kid who was only 20-years old.

In a few months, he moved on to another real estate company, this time finding a person who was willing to mentor him. Within 2-years, he was making over $100,000 a year selling real estate.

They say that timing is everything. One day a friend of his was sitting next to an attorney on an airplane who needed a real estate agent to sell a backlog of properties under the control of probate and circuit courts. She recommended Brian. Suddenly, Brian had 70 homes to sell and it needed to be done immediately. Another 50 homes came shortly thereafter and when they were sold, Brain was undisputedly an expert in selling distressed properties.

His regular real estate sales also boomed. He became a Top 10 regional sales leader for RE/MAX, a position he has held for ten years. At this point in his career, Brian had every reason to relax and enjoy the fruits of his amazing success. That, however, would have been the "ordinary" thing to do and Brian, the former chewing gum salesman (sales kid) had other ideas.
